The Alaska Zoo is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to promoting conservation of Arctic, sub-Arctic and like climate species through education, research and community enrichment.
Our core values are Community, Safety, Education, Stewardship and Fun.
We have provided care and homes for thousands of Alaska's wild animals since we opened our gates to animals and the public in 1969. We receive animals from biologists and agency managers who have deemed them to be in need of care and placement at our zoo or at another facility. We prioritize animal care as well as being a good community partner and a source of quality wildlife education programs.
Our General Fund is the operational fund for our nonprofit zoo - to keep the zoo open to the public, to maintain safety, to provide top quality care for animals and to keep the lights on and the staff paid.
We have an ongoing need for contributions in this fund, and we hope you will choose to support our mission today!
Thank you for your generosity.
